Running Server 5 and 7 on the same local network ?

Featured Replies

I have a small local network with FM Server 5. As I'm actually "switching" on FM Server 7, I wonder if I can run FM Server 7 (installed on another Mac) on the *same* local network in order to make some test. Do you think it's risky ? Is there some possibilities that FMP clent 5 and FMP client 7 "mix" sended/received data ?

Databases are indentical - of course, the new ones were converted to 7 format.

Thanx for your help.

Hi Zax,

There's no issues wil running both versions on the same network, each client will only be able to see their own version of files on the network. Just don't try to run both servers on the same machine.
