Newbies SubZero Posted February 15, 2002 Newbies Posted February 15, 2002 Im using FileMaker 5.5 on windows98, and im trying to create a script that would tell me in which scripts each field is used. So for example if i have a global field gName, and it is used in 4 of my 10 scripts, i would like this new script to tell me the names of the 4 scripts where it is used. Thanks
Chuck Posted February 15, 2002 Posted February 15, 2002 I don't think there is a way to do this with FileMaker alone. The common solution is to use a third party tool such as Analyzer or Brushfire (Brushfire is unfortunately Mac only). You can check out Anaylyzer at http://www.wmotion.com. SteveB Posted February 16, 2002 Posted February 16, 2002 Chuck: I believe Brushfire is now available for Windows, but requires Win2000 or Win XP
Chuck Posted February 16, 2002 Posted February 16, 2002 You're right, which is embarassing, since I wrote a review of the software for FileMaker Magazine and am on the beta test program. Brushfire actually does a better job of reporting the full details of scripts. Chuck [ February 15, 2002, 04:59 PM: Message edited by: Chuck ]
