Sigh, this is really frustrating. I create a SIMPLE portal with a relationship to a remote database (that is password protected...but it's not asking me for a password). It works WONDERFULLY until I close the file. When I reopen it, poof, the portal is empty. I know this is really vague, but any ideas?

Well, it's somehow related to FM not asking me for a password...which I guessed. The problem is, I dont know how to resolve that issue. Any idea how to force FM to ask me for a password in a relationship?

Either the second db is configured to open using a default password or the password used to open your main db shares a password with the second one.

Turns out that because of all the network drive madness, Filemaker was opening an old COPY of the same database in the background. I just had to move the copy out of the same folder and it worked fine.

Strange, did the copy have a different filename?
