I have 2 databases, 1 has 43 thousand records and the other has 16k. I need to take the records from the 43k and merge them with the 16k and keep the duplicates, and eliminate the others. How do I do this via sort instead of exporting as tab sep. and manually deleting?

In your Import Field Mapping dialog, set 'Update matching records in current found set' and don't set 'Add remaining records'. Click on the Map column to select the fields to match with the double-arrow. Make sure all records are found before performing the import.
