Print from the related file. It is generally not a good idea to print portals, they are used in the interface.

Can I make the portal expand or shrink depending on the number of records I'm viewing so I wont have to use and scroll bar?

No, at least not in Browse Mode. You could make it as large as possible and set it to slide up. But this would only be viewable in Preview Mode. There is no way to auto-expand portals.
