Newbies the_clar Posted October 4, 2004 Newbies Posted October 4, 2004 This will probably take you back. I'm about to upgrade my machine running Filemaker from Mac OS 9.0 to 9.2.1. Does anyone know if this could affect Filemaker? Has anyone done it before? Thanks, Jason
gdurniak Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Interesting that you should ask FileMaker Server 4, 5, and 5.5 run best on OS 9.0.4. for FileMaker Client, it should not make a difference for more info, see the NY Developer's web site http://masdevelopment.com:3455/1/56
Newbies the_clar Posted October 4, 2004 Author Newbies Posted October 4, 2004 Thanks alot. I'm only upgrading because we run another app on the machine that would benefit from a newer operating system. Seems like that app's gonna need anohter machine
LiveOak Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 If you are running FM Server, you should not run other applications on the server machine. You might also want to use Clarkwood Software's Peek-a-Boo (www.clarkwoodsoftware.com). This application allows you to explicity assign processor time to FM, it prevents a slow down when the Finder is clicked into the foreground while running FM Server. If you run OS 9.0.4 with FM Server, also disable unused extensions. -bd
