reedrichards Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Is there a way to write an AppleScript that will automatically Export Records of your choosing (with formatting intact) to an AppleWorks spreadsheet?
LiveOak Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 You can automate exports, but with formatting intact, I'm not so sure. You need to identify a format which will support what you wish to do and is compatible with an import method into AppleWorks that maintains formatting. Just to get the "big picture" what is the overall process you are performing? Why do you need to import to an AppleWorks spreadsheet (maybe we can skip some steps)? -bd
reedrichards Posted October 13, 2004 Author Posted October 13, 2004 It's a database for a tournament. A directory of competitors, their skill levels, where they live, occupation, etc. is printed each year as an Appleworks document. So my idea was to script Filemaker to tell it which fields need to be exported, then open that exported file in Appleworks as a spreadsheet where I can massage it for its final destination as an Appleworks word processing file. Make any sense? -rr
reedrichards Posted October 20, 2004 Author Posted October 20, 2004 can someone can give me a wee sample of a few lines of generic code? don't know why I can't figure it out myself ...
