I have a bunch of customer data that is currently in an excel format that I need to enter into my database. When I try to open it with FM7 the fields don't match up.

Is this because the first column is being registered as a table?

Any suggestions how to speed up process so I don't have to spend weeks cutting and pasting?

Thanks...

How are you opening the file? Have you tried and import instead? At the first import screen can you match up the fields with field names? I have had no problems importing from Excel files. If you do not already have a database to import the Excel data into, FM will convert the Excel file into a FM format.

I am having the same issue. In xcel take all your data and using the mouse and copy command highlight all the data rows and columns and CTRL C the data. open up a new sheet and then right click on the sheet and select paste special. Select transpose and paste. It will convert all of the columns to rows and paste the data into the sheet in a format the FM can import and name the fields automatically. There has to be less then 255 columns to work but it does work fine.
