Creating a field as a Shape or Line

If you can picture a circle made up of a thick line.

What i want to do is have the LINE that makes the Circle broken up into sections.

IE. Instead of having 1 x Complete Circle, i would have various curved lines to make up one Full Circle.

The reason for this is that i want to have, depending on the result of a Calc. field, each Section ONLY change colour according to three shade fields, dependant on the CALC.

So therefore the Circle may be made up of 20 different curved lines (that are fields) that may be any combination of the three shades selected according to a CALC. field.

Does anyone know how/if i can have a line/shape to BE a FIELD ?

Any help would be appreciated

The example file attached is similiar to what i want but, i want the black lines to be broken up into sections matching the current sectioned colours, both the inside line and the outside line.

Corey,

1) Draw a cirlce the size of the outside diameter of the largest cirlce (reference line only).

2) Draw a circle the size of the inside diameter of the largest cirlce.

3) Place SectionFields to cover the boder line created by the two circles. (You will likely need to use multiple copies of each field to cover the ring.)

4) Select all the SelectionFields and send them behind the large rings.

5) Fill the inner, large circle with a background colour.

6) Lock all the fields and inner large cirlce to prevent movement.

7) Delete the larger circle.

8) With an other application create a square large enough to cover all the fields making up the new border and cut out a transperant circle the same size as the largest circle.

To create an other inner border repeat the steps.

The key is order of SectionsFields and covering circles.
