evancooney Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 We have Filemaker server 5.0 hosting databases from multiple departments in our company. The list is getting a little long and jumbled. Is there a better way to group the files other then adding some kind of department prefix to the db names? Thanks,
DykstrL Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 Look in C:Documents and Settings~user~Application DataFileMakerFileMaker Pro5.5 or 6.0 for a file called "FMHosts.TXT". This file contains the server names or ip addresses that are displayed in the hosts list. You can create a file with the same structure and name it the same. The drawback is that you have to install the file on all machines and for each user of that machine. The good news is that if you are using an MSI to install, you can include the FMHosts.TXT file in the MSI package.
