HELP! My Send Mail Scripts Locks Other Users!

Hope SOmeone Can Help, I am Currently the HOST of a Filmaker Data Base that other users are logged into. I have a simple "Email Button" which when pushed, executes Outlook, puts the email address in the "TO" Field, Etc. I use this often to email customers right from their database. Works great except, when I am in the middle of writing the message, Other people that are sharing with another File I am hosting cannot do ANYTHING. I am not even talking about the same file that I am performing the script on. Can someone offer me a suggestion as to why this is happening and how I may be able to stop this. Thanks!

Since you are the host of the file, and other people are guests of it (I hope not through OS-level file sharing), any process on your machine will slow the other guests down. Printing, sending email, even your screensaver will have a performance effect on whoever is connected to your files.

The best way around this is to use a dedicated machine running FileMaker Server

Thank You For your response. I figured that having it hosted on it's own server would work however, I don't recall this happening before an not sure what would have changed. Thanks again.
