Newbies Choice55 Posted October 21, 2004 Newbies Share Posted October 21, 2004 Hope SOmeone Can Help, I am Currently the HOST of a Filmaker Data Base that other users are logged into. I have a simple "Email Button" which when pushed, executes Outlook, puts the email address in the "TO" Field, Etc. I use this often to email customers right from their database. Works great except, when I am in the middle of writing the message, Other people that are sharing with another File I am hosting cannot do ANYTHING. I am not even talking about the same file that I am performing the script on. Can someone offer me a suggestion as to why this is happening and how I may be able to stop this. Thanks! Wim Decorte Posted October 21, 2004 Share Posted October 21, 2004 Since you are the host of the file, and other people are guests of it (I hope not through OS-level file sharing), any process on your machine will slow the other guests down. Printing, sending email, even your screensaver will have a performance effect on whoever is connected to your files.
