Newbies cotech Posted October 22, 2004 Newbies Posted October 22, 2004 Hello, We have a client that is currently running Filemaker Server 5 from a MAC and now wants to run it from a Windows 2000 Pro workstation. All client computers will be XP or 2000 Pro. Can anyone give me some links that will aid in this setup or alert me to any issues? My main questions are... 1. are there any issues running Filemaker Server 5 from a Windows 2000 Professional box? 2. what are the true hardware requirments for this Windows 2000 Pro computer for running Filemaker Server 5? 3. XP issues? I have only worked with Filemaker 6 & 7 so I want to be sure with these questions before I quote a price. Thanks in advance. Aaron 3
transpower Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 Your best bet is to use Windows Server 2003 with Terminal Server on one computer, and FM Server on a second computer. The clients (whether XP or 2000 Pro) can connect to a copy of FM Pro installed on Terminal Server and then connect to FM Server.
