I really favor the advanced solution, that is what I need, but I cannot get to see the backgroud... The simple solution seems can only show the ancestors of current record... Did I miss something here?

I would like create records in the code DB by myself. Users can only do search, not edit or add. But I have a feeling that I missed something in your sample file.

You should be able to track either the Parent and Children records with the Simple solution. The "complex" is a little more involved, mainly on the Interface structure, but does rely on the same principles.

It isn't locked. May be you'd need to use the Unlock script for the Status Area so you can dissect it.
