filemaker developer 7, fmp 6

This is probably a stupid question. But can I use developer 7 on my fmp 6 databases without turning them into fmp 7 files?

Sorry, the answer is no.

Totally different extension type in windows. However do not uninstall as you need both the applications during the period of migration and testing. Seems to work fine together just remember to change the iwp port number to different.
