April 12, 200223 yr hey all, please download this file. http://www.meancode.com/services/fmp/window_trick.sit i made this little file in frustration of finding out that the plug-in MoveWindow is $179 for a developer license. ok so theirs works on Windows, but the price is a bit steep. this has been done in 8 fields, and, is free. check it out and give me any feedback you can (can you break it?) i am mostly satisfyed with it, and am going to be able to use it in this invoicing/project management solution i am working on currently for student publications. but i see a little more potential. instead of using Status(CurrentFileName) to get the file name, i would like to have multiple records in this DB, and have their names keyed to an ID, so i can use this file as a "Window Preferences." i just dont know how to get the calculation to work correctly for that. play around with it and let me know what you think. this thing is pretty useful now, but man if it could manage multiple files/layouts that would rock. please let me know if you figure out how to do this. thanks

Put your file name ( use an relationship if you want) instead of status(CurrentFileName). However it seams more usefull the way it is. Do you want to show-up this window, or not. So what ever name it has status(CurrentFileName). would reflect that. If you need to change programatically the coordinates and the size than just pass them, using relationship for ex, to the file you want to become the frontmost and call the resize script. HTGH Dj
April 12, 200223 yr Author being file specific does not save me enough time on making a relationship. being layout specific is what i am looking for. i am looking into keying it off of the db name and Status(CurrentLayoutNumber).
