MarkWilson Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 I am not a network guru, but I did experience a similar slow network problem. In my office, we run FileMaker 5.5 and most stations have a Windows 2000 Pro OS. My "server" is a desktop running Windows 2000 Pro. When I started to share the files, the network was quick and all FileMaker activity was very slow. I was able to solve the problem by creating a separate drive on the "server" and placing only our FileMaker files on it.
transpower Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 What were the network card attributes in the different computers? What were the performance tuning settings? With 10 remote computers, you really should be running FileMaker Server.
