Newbies Drewfus Posted November 6, 2004 Newbies Share Posted November 6, 2004 I have developed a solution in Dev7 for music teachers which creates timetables and things. I am wondering that if I distribute it as a runtime solution, is there any way of protecting it from being pirated or copied by the end users? This is my first post so I hope it is in the right category.
transpower
Keep the password for Admin or Developer secret. Do not allow users into layout mode, etc. Have a serial number for each one you sell. Be sure to obtain a U.S. copyright and display it on your Main Menu or ending Splash Screen or About Screen.
Newbies Drewfus Posted November 7, 2004 Author Newbies Share Posted November 7, 2004 Thanks for the advice With Serial numbers, is there a way for the end user to input it once which allows them access to the solution like other commercial software or is the serial number a way of keeping track of solutions? transpower
Both. You can set this up so they have to call you to obtain the serial number to enter.
