Newbies ingreece Posted November 8, 2004 Newbies Share Posted November 8, 2004 I have just started working at a small school in Greece that has a rudimentary FMPro database that they hope to use for managing admissions. I know nothing about FMPro, but I have managed to get it to accept email templates, send to users in "found group", and a couple of other things, but what I need is to be able to bring up a list of pending students, click to include or exclude them from a group mailing, and then do a mail merge to send a personalized template letter to each one. Is this possible without an add-on program? THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP! I live on a very small island and there's not much FM expertise around! transpower
Yes. You could select the records based on a status field (e.g., "pending"). You could construct a layout with merge fields. You would then print this layout for the found set of pending students.
Newbies ingreece Posted November 9, 2004 Author Newbies Share Posted November 9, 2004 Thanks for the reply. I realized that one of my sentences was unclear---I want to send a personalized E-MAIL with merge information from a template, not create printable letters. With that clarification, is this possible? Thanks.
transpower
Use the Send Mail script step, instead of printing.
Newbies Miro Posted November 14, 2004 Newbies Share Posted November 14, 2004 With emails increasingly becoming a marketing tool I want to have them properly organized into Filemaker, which is a pretty straightforward thing to do
