Adding one field several times to an export list

hi

i am making a database of magazine advertising. each advertiser has one to three 'index' names that appear on a page in the back with their page number. for instance, one client might be known by three names so will be indexed three times, each time referring to the same page number.

i have a main file and a related file, basically the issue records and the contacts database. the contacts database tracks vitals on our clients -- including the ad index names.

when i'm in the main file i start a new series of records for a particular issue. when i make a new record for a client all of the info from the contacts database pops into the record when i choose the client's name from a pop-up menu.

so here's the problem -- in the main database, after entering all of the clients for a particular issue, i go to export the ad index names as a tab separated file (later to be formatted by a designer in quark), sorted by ad index names. however i need the page number to appear up to three times, once for each ad index name in that single record. fmp7 will only let me add a field once per record.

any suggestions? thank you!

Make index a repeating field with three repetitions. All repetitions will be exported.

Is that only a FMP 7 feature or can it be done with 6?

I know its been a while since I posted -- I've recently returned to this problem. The repeating fields worked. However it'd be great if there were line breaks between the fields and they were sorted alphabetically. Is that possible?

Thanks!
