Lookup field in portal not working, bug?

Featured Replies

Do you have FM Server 7 version 2? If not, this may have been correct in version 2.

Nope, Sorry,

I will give some more information.

The file is created with Filemaker 7 v3 and hosted on Filemaker server 7 v2

I've made a solution with a script that creates a new record and commits it, but for me it is not right that there's as difference between Pro and Server.

There are any number of differences in file behavior between a file that stands alone and one that is hosted by FileMaker Server. This is by intention and design.

Hello all,

Let's explane the following situation.

I've made a database with 2 tables, related to each other with an id.

When i create a new record and fill something in the related portal the lookup field works perfect in Filemaker 7

Try withj the same file hosted by Filemaker 7 Server and it wil not work (unless you click next to thwe field.

What i discovered is with filemaker 7 Server is that you have to commit the new record first and then the lookup will work, but is this a bug?

Let me know if anybody else has this problem too.

Ok,

I can live with that, is there a white paper or description what the differences are?
