Hi Guys,

I'm pretty new to FM and I know this subject has been discussed many times in this forum but I still can't find a clear example for FM6.

All I want to be able to do is make a selection in List1 and the options in List2 change depending on what was selected.

I can't find examples anywhere and i'm going crazy!

ta in advance,

Steve K.

Hi, Steve. Check out these links.

I think the subject you wrote adds some good keywords for searching the Forums, and now i'll add some more:

conditional value list filemaker 6 fm 6

dynamic value list filemaker 6 fm 6

conditional vl filemaker 6 fm 6

value list based on another field filemaker 6 fm 6

vl based on another field filemaker 6 fm 6

conditional valuelist filemaker 6 fm 6

dynamic valuelist filemaker 6 fm 6

valuelist based on another field filemaker 6 fm 6

Anyone want to add some more?

Jerry

Value list is often written as valuelist.

Thanks, JT, good point. I've edited the original post.

Have to get used to FMP7 too.. I still can't figure it out....:(

I have a global relationship (gRecordType::_Recordtype). I want to see only the records from that relationship in the valuelist, but that doesn't work either....

Ehhh... the valuelist is used in a portal, maybe that would be the problem here?

Got it figured out allready smirk.gif ... have to make 2 relationships, instead of creating a multivalue relationship... I wish it could be possible by a multivalue relationship .... crazy.gif
