Page Break in Middle of Body

Featured Replies

I have a report with a header, body and footer. Header and footer work correctly. The body has a long text box and 2 picture containers at the bottom. The pictures slide up to adjust to the size of the text.

The problem is that the pictures are sometimes split accross 2 pages. The user usually has to insert carriage returns to put the pictures on to the second page. Is there a way to put a page break right before the pictures so that the picutres show on the next page?

Thanks. I'm using Windows 2000 with FM5.

This can be quite tricky. I've had to deal with a problem simular to this. Since each printer prints just a bit different, there is no way I can guarantee this will work, but it'll help -

Set the layout to have fixed margins. I like to use 1/4 inch ones, as this is a good minimum that most any new printer can handle. This way, you'll have a good idea exactly what the top-bottom margins are, and can figure out where to place things.

Using the sliding option is OK, but it causes problems like what you described. I personally like to use sliding only when there is text involved.

If you know within a good aproximation how long the text is going to be, set the images to a fixed location, without the sliding option.

Hopefully these few bits help.
