Newbies Adrian Williams Posted November 24, 2004 Newbies Posted November 24, 2004 I'm using FM6 on Windows XP (Professional). FM Dev Tool produces -37 error (filename too long) when I try to create a runtime solution. But even if I shorten the name to "CD(4.2).fp5" I still get this error. This has not happened previously when bound soultions have been made. Anyone have this experience or can tell me how to convince DevTool to listen up!
andygaunt Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 One thing that springs to mind is the location of your file. Move the files to a folder on the root drive, as opposed to inside your My Documents etc. The my docs folder is located in your Root Drive > Documents & Settings > Your username > Your username documents > and so on. This length of filename can cause problems. It can also be the cause of an inability to recover a file. But moving to the root drive may help
DykstrL Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 This can also happen when you are trying to save it to a network drive. Save it on your hard drive (preferrably at the root) then move the bound package where you want.
