Transparency eps problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is there a solution on how to make the white background of an imported eps file dissapear?

In FM 6 the imported eps didn't show an additional background.

When importing the same image in FM7, FM7 adds a background.

I want my transparancy back !!!

I'm using Windows, and I've always had white backgrounds on EPS files, even with older versions of FileMaker. The white background always corresponds to the EPS bounding box, I just figured it's a bug.

There's a trick I used to use in FM 6 for Windows to make the background of an image transparent. I don't know if it will work on the Mac, but it might be worth trying.

Edit the original image and rotate it 90 degrees counterclockwise, then save it. Place the rotated image on your layout, and use the rotate tool to rotate the image back 90 degrees clockwise. When you do this, the background style of the box the image is in changes to solid. Change it back to transparent, and the background of the image itself changes at the same time.

Hi Arie,

This questions come up from time to time. I don't use v7 (system too old), but I just did a search of "All Forums" using +background +transparent with Blank in Weeks, and got 152 hits, I noticed that a lot of them were in the General Discussion Area for version 7 (I bet most of them should have been posted here). When you do your search, be sure that you use the plus (+) with the Keywords as shown.
