Running FM Server 6 and FM Server 7 on the MAC

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Is there any problem to run FM Server 6 and FM Server 7 at the same time on one machine ?

Are they using the same ports and our client will have to use both FMP 6 and 7 at the same time till we're migrating.

Any reccomendations are welcome

Thank You

Misho

Bad idea. It would kill performance and probably cause the disk drive to thrash, if it worked at all (with any load). I would migrate the files on a separate FM computer, then transfer the files (and import the current records) on a weekend.

The servers cannot run on the same machine simultaneously because they use the same port. But you could serve them on separate machines. The client computers can have both versions open at the same time.

Thank You

It helped a lot - I was searching the old posts to find the answer but nobody asked this question before.

Thanks for the quick responses

Misho
