Newbies SCHHAI Posted December 10, 2004 Newbies Posted December 10, 2004 Hi, Does anyone know if it is possible to export a file maker report without exporting all the related records of that report? Thanks in advance!
-Queue- Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 Um, you mean when you specify the export order, only use fields from the current TO and no related ones?
Newbies SCHHAI Posted December 15, 2004 Author Newbies Posted December 15, 2004 Hi, The fields that I am trying to export is a calculated result (which is then presented in filemaker as a report) that is formed from various relationships, just wondering if there was a way to export the result to excel, so that others can view the result without having to use filemaker. Thanks!
-Queue- Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 Yes, you can export as tab, mer, or csv, and open the resulting file in Excel. Whether or not you can export a report similarly to the way it appears in FM depends on how the report is set up. If you have calculations in the main table that reference related tables, then you should be able to export those. You can also export related fields by changing the source table at the top, left-hand corner and selected the desired fields. If the records are sorted correctly, you can use the Group By option to export only one record per 'Group By' field and include summary fields.
