Newbies FilemakerLimboPleaseHelp Posted December 14, 2004 Newbies Posted December 14, 2004 I run into this problem every time I try to create new database from an empty file. When I go to set up the label format - we always use 5660 Avery - it's three across and ten down. For some reason the layout only produces nine down. On the older version of Filemaker we had you could add a footer and it usually corrected the problem so it shows as 10 down. But in Filemaker 7 the ole footer band aid as we called it doesn't seem to work...does anyone have a quick fix for this?? It drives me mad! Thanks for your time!
RalphL Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 I have founhd that if you reduce the size of the header 1 or 2 pixels it will usually correct itself.
Newbies FilemakerLimboPleaseHelp Posted December 16, 2004 Author Newbies Posted December 16, 2004 Ralph - thanks for your help - it didn't work but I will keep trying to play around with....
JSRunnels Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 Worked for me. The default header was 17 px. I dragged it to 11 px and my tenth label shows up now. Related side question: There must be an easy way to specify the EXACT height of the header/footer/etc., I just can't seem to find it. I have to eyeball it every time.... I have the little Size palette come up whenever I am in layout mode and if you click on the divider line, it returns the stats on the part, but as soon as you let go, they disappear...
JSRunnels Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 Shouldn't this thread be in the Printing forum? I had trouble finding it....
Fenton Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 Click on the names of the parts, little tabs either at the bottom of the part, on all on the left; you can toggle the location, either by the little icon at the bottom left of the page, or by Cmd (Mac) clicking on the part tab itself. What you cannot do is set the part to any fraction of a pixel (or its corresponding thousands of an inch). 1 pixel is the smallest (unless I'm mistaken). Which can sometimes cause really small labels to "drift" a little.
