FM5 Hosting Issues - Permission Win2k?

Featured Replies

I have FM5 Pro Unlimted on a Win2k Box. Recently having problems with connectiong via host and openning DBs that were able to do before, after creating new win2k user account.

We created two accounts on the Win2k Box, one for me, and one for everyone else.

We added the startup script for both accounts, and when either log on, it starts, and the web companion works.

Problem is: When new account logs in, nobody can connect via host.

Ok, so I thought that account needed to be Power User (Didn't Work) so I changed that account to Administrator (Didn't work)

The only thing I can think of, is that it has to be the account which installed the FileMaker Pro, is the only one it will run properly with.

My thoughts are I should try to uninstall it from old account, and reinstall from new account... but would prefer to avoid... the setup was a long time ago, might not remember everything...

I also use TWEAKUI to auto-login to the account when the computer is loaded. Is there a way to start FM without logging in.. with this version?

Go back to the basics: when you open filemaker with the new account, is the filemaker network preference set to TCP/IP. Could be that it is set to 'none'.
