how to find all records with null value

Hello,

How do I do a Find that will get all the records where a particular field has no value. I tried just clicking in the field and hitting Find but get an error saying I have to enter a value in a particular range. In this particular case I want to find all records where a particular date field is empty. What do I type into the field to indicate "no date"?
