J__ Posted December 23, 2004 Posted December 23, 2004 Hi, I have a tester who is testing a little program i wrote. She reported that she tabbed over to a popup menu, which normally drops down a list when you tab into it and today it didn't work. She tabs into the popup and no drop down appears. Has anyone seen a case where when you tabbed to the value list, the list did not drop down? I did discover that they are running Fm7 v1 but in the fix list, i didn't see this listed as a bug. they are also running from a server, the server is mac OS X fm7 Server. and her machine is a windowsXp. I cannot duplicate this problem... and now it has appeared to have gone away... weird. anyone ever seen this kind of thing before? thanks, and Happy Holidays to All, Sincerely, J__
-Queue- Posted December 23, 2004 Posted December 23, 2004 I had this happen just two weeks ago on a Windows XP machine accessing a file from Server 5.5. Closing and opening FileMaker resolved it. I never figured out why it wasn't working for only one machine. AFAIAA, it never happened previously and we've been running 5.5 for three years.
J__ Posted December 29, 2004 Author Posted December 29, 2004 Queue, Thanks for the response. Hope you had a good holiday. And, although it may sound corny, I'd like to express my thanks for responding to my questions in the Filemaker Forum, I really do appreciate it and your solutions and suggestions are helpful - thanks! The users were running from Windows XP too. But running a FM7 v1 filemaker - but the file they were accessing was coming from fm7 Server .. and the I had actually created teh file using FM7 v3. It was one person who seemed to be having the problem - although not alot of people were testing at the time (so close to xmas).... I gave them a new build and the problem went away. I'm encouraging them to use Filemaker 7 v3 I was concerned though i just couldn't see what was making it happen... and I hate the 'weird' bugs like that. thanks for the response and happy holidays, sincerely, J__
