Snap to Screen in Kiosk Mode ?

Featured Replies

I am running Developer 6, and am binding a solution in Kiosk mode.

The solution was written on a machine with a 19 inch monitor and I wish to be able to display the kiosk solution on a smaller screen (actually any screen).

Within every file's startup script I have a screen setting subscript which (in order)...

1. hides the Satus area

2. Toggles the window to maximise.

I am unable to get the kiosk to snap to the available screen, and have tried every combination I can think of with regard to stting the zoom level, using toggle window maximise / zoom etc etc.

Can anyone help me with this please ?

Happy new year to you all

CJ.

You can't do what you want, unless you create layouts specific to the size of the screen and resolution you want to support. If your solution has many screens, it's a lot of work.

Thanks for your reply Steve. ... I just hope there is way. I've spent thousands of hours creating this solution and I just can't believe FM developer can be this naff.

Although it doesn't appear to work, On p4-6 of the FM Developer manual it says:

"To center your database in the middle of a kiosk screen, create a startup script that uses the Toggle Window and set Zoom Level script steps. When a file is opened in kiosk mode, two things will happen:

. The database window snaps to fit layout objects at the right and bottom of the layout.

. If the window is smaller than the available screen area, it is centered in the middle of the screen.

This does appear to be a pretty clear statement but I can't get it to work.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

CJ.
