I've got a field which contains a whole name (ie "John Smith" or sometimes "John Q. Smith" and I need to extract that I assume with a calculation. I saw a tutorial here on text functions, but I'm still having trouble. I'm sure it's simple... can anyone offer any guidance?

I not aware of a "tutorial", but have you tried LeftWord(YourField, 1)
