I have just got Filemaker Developer 6.

I am starting my own business, a publishing company, and I dont know much about Filemaker except the very basics.

Does anybody know of a sales database template suitable for me to download anywhere? There is not one on the list supplied by filemaker on the CD and I need one for client information and sales calls - did they buy, date fields and the like. Is there a sales records template anywhere???

Please Help!!! confused.gif

Roverdog,

Take a look at FileMaker's website.

It looks like they offer some free solutions and one of them might get you close. I have not personally used any of them so I can't recommend one.

If you are just starting to build your new business you really should also consider starting with with version 7. The upgrade from 6 to 7 is not painless in either a technical sense or a financial sense for that matter but personally I find the technical hurdles much more difficult to overcome. I bet there are more than a few folks who will completely rewrite their solutions rather than convert.

A few bucks spent now purchasing v7 and starting with an application written specifically for v7 seems to me to be a wise move.
