***ANDY*** Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Hello, I have following question: I have two date fileds, one called START, the other called PICK_UP. What I intend to do is that PICK-UP automatically always shows one day ahead if a date gets entered into START. e.g. START= 5/23/2005 then PICK-UP should show 5/24/2005 I'm still learning on this software so I guess I need a little assistance even so it doesn't sound too much of a problem. Thanks for any help, Andy
spb Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Make PICK_UP a calculation field (result date) where the calc is START + 1 Steve Brown
***ANDY*** Posted January 6, 2005 Author Posted January 6, 2005 when I do this I get the message that "PICK-UP cannot be used here because it would cause a circular definition"...:... Andy
***ANDY*** Posted January 6, 2005 Author Posted January 6, 2005 O.K. little mistake on my side, I chose the wrong field in the calculation but still: when I enter in my calculation START = 1 I get a "?" in my field PICK-UP. Anyhow: how's the software supposed to know what "1" means? 1 could be a day or a month or a year...how do I define?? Andy
Lee Smith Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 FileMaker is really good about some date things. Your PICK-UP
***ANDY*** Posted January 6, 2005 Author Posted January 6, 2005 THANK YOU Here was my error, my START wasn't a date field... Now I can continue... Thanks for your help! Andy
