I'm new to fm server 7 and I am wondering if it is possible for a client to access a file using something like internet explorer from the server. I do not want to access it via fm pro 7 on the client's computers. If so how can this be done? I'm totally lost.

There are at least two ways that your FM solution can be accessible via the internet/intranet. You could purchase Filemaker Server Advanced that could run on the same machine running FMServer (expensive). Or another machine could open the served file and via Instant Web Publishing serve on the web (more limited in what it can serve. Check out this topic in the online forum.

Thanks for your quick reply, I have tried searching for the instant web publishing through the forums but can't really find the help I needed from it. How do I setup and run that? I don't need clients to access the files from the server via internet, just need to access it within the local network using Internet explorer or such. Thanks
