Hello

I am very sorry to ask a question that might sound stupid to you guys, but forgive me as I am a newcomer in this filed.

We had a server crash and what we did was copying all file maker databases and reinstall windows and recover databases. Now the problem is that we can not open some files and we get the error

I included a screenshot of error

<filename>.FP could not be found and is required to complete this operation.

Server 2003 with file maker 5 and client 2000/xp with file make 6

Any immediate help would be appreciated

Your file may be corrupted beyond all use. Create a new file with nothing in it to see if it can be served, to check your server set up first.

Make sure you've spelled the filename correctly. .fp is an unusual extension; try changing it to .fp5 and see if that helps.

Alternatively, you could just find International Bill of Lading.FP through the Open File dialog that appears after this message and double-click it. It's preferable, though, to make sure the name was not changed during the recovery process because there may be other files that are looking for the original name of the file.

HTH,

Jerry
