Cannot access Web Publishing web interface

Featured Replies

I installed FileMaker Server 7 Advanced on Mac OS 10.3 and now I am trying to install Web Publishing Engine on a separate computer (Mac OS 10.3.7 Server). I followed all the instructions and installation was successful. However, when I am trying to configure it via http://server/fmi/config it tells me that apache cannot find this file. I realize that the problem is that I have 3 virtual hosts configured on that computer and just http://server does not work. Does anybody know where I can specify maybe a port number or folder location to access Web Publishing?

Thank you very much!

I tried that before and I was not able to connect. Then I figured out that somehow httpd.conf file was not modified at the time of Web Publishing engine installation and FM "include..." entry was not added. I added it manually and after that I was able to logon http://localhost/fmi/config.

Now my problem is that I can't move further than the 1st window of Administration console. It askes me for the username and password and I am able to login. Then it shows "Unexpected error has occurred" and does not allow me to do anything else.

I am able to install and configure Web Publishing Enging on the same comouter as FIleMaker Server though without any problems.

Please help...

I am having the same problems on the windows 2k server and IIS. I am at the same point that you are in the configuration. I have called tech support and they ask me to send in the logs for WPE and IIS. they will call back today at 1 pm PST and hopfully have an answer. If you read this forum this is a very common problem with this product so you are not alone. I wil report back what the answer is if filemaker has one.
