Razumovsky Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Hi all, I can't seem to find the server 6 manual on the FM website. Does anyone have this and want to post it, or know of another place to find it? Thanks, -Raz
stanley Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Raz: There was no version 6 of Server. The manual you're after is the FMS 5.5 manual, which is at: http://filemaker.com/downloads/pdf/fms55_admin_guide.pdf -Stanley
Razumovsky Posted January 12, 2005 Author Posted January 12, 2005 Thanks stanley, that would explain it... There goes that idea. I had stumbled across the following at the FM website; "FileMaker gives both Volume License Agreement customers and boxed Product (shrink-wrapped) customers the right to purchase new (not upgrade) copies of FileMaker 7 but to install FileMaker 6. FileMaker 7 Volume License Agreement customers have the additional ability to request a copy of the FileMaker 6 media disks at a minimal charge, at time of purchase, by contacting FileMaker Licensing Sales at 800-725-2747. Please see the FileMaker license program FAQ for more details on "installing previous version" rights" and was thinking that I could use the FM server 7 CD to install an earlier version to allow the database to continue limping along in FM6 untill a rebuild in 7. To clarify, the client is moving a FM6 DB from mac to PC, had lost all the install disks and codes, and purchased FM server 7 not knowing that it would not work with the FM6 files (the FM salespeople apparently told them it would work fine...). I suppose I need to round up a copy of FM server 5.5 for them. Thanks for the link though...
