Creating a page with formatting for email?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I like using the send mail feature and scripting for the entire pages contents to be copied into a field so that I can specify this field as being the BODY TEXT of the email. Nice

But no formatting at all except for carridge returns. Isn't there a way of including right justified tabs and font size, etc so that I can create an emailable, nice looking invoice document or quotation?

At the moment every email I send looks like

I want to make it look normal - is this possible? Is there scriptable tabformatting of characters without the use of some blinking annoying plug-in?

thanks

The larger issue here has more to do with there being no standards for email client software apps.

The email client that your end user may be using, and what their options are set to for fonts, etc, can change a masterpiece into a bunch of garbage.

I was going to suggest that you try embedding html code into the email, but there is no guarantee your end user has an email client app that supports html...

Tab characters are not really a supported character in email transmission so you are out of luck there.

Maybe in the end you can produce your output in PDF format and email it as an attachment...
