Can anyone answer this question:

How do I make a FileMaker database send an email each time a new record is created (notifying a user that a new record has been submitted)?

You can use EventScript in an auto-enter calculation in the last field of the record to call a script to send the email.

It's not working like I hoped. Is there any way for FileMaker Pro or Server to send an email without launching a mail client?

Only with a plugin like smtpit or mailit.
