January 20, 200520 yr I've been diligently searching and searching the forum and cannot find an answer to this. I have a script step that looks something like: Export Records [Restore, No dialog, "Filename.fp5(000.000.0.000)"] where the strong of zeros and dots is an IP address. I have noticed that sometimes the script step will have the IP address, other times it will have an asterisk. I need to check the "specify" option to make sure the filename is applied to the export. The working version of this file is being served. I need the export to park its file on a hard disk. I will pull a copy of the file off the server, make a runtime, and install this on a machine not on the network. Will it keep its path to a local hard drive? Or will it attempt to find a hard-scripted IP address that is no longer available? When and how does an IP address get into import/export script steps, what does it mean, and how can I control it? January 21, 200520 yr If you are using Windows you can use this syntax to access or create files on a fileserver: "myservermyfolderMyFileName.FP5". To script it you may need to manually create a file in that specific location and then select it in the Open File window when scripting the export.
