FM6 ---> QuickBooks using qbXML

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is there anyone out there that can help me integrate my customers and invoices database into quickbooks.

I've already created IIF files, with an export routine out of FileMaker but I'd like to "learn" XML and its capabililty, is there someone that can point me in the right direction.

Has someone already done this, and would like to share some of the code would be most appreciated, as I work best learning from real examples. I've downloaded the qbXML kit, im going to be looking for a free XML editor and look on the net for examples.

Take a look at FileBooks Link by Happy Software.

Hi Transpower.

I'd like to create and learn how to do it without the use of a plugin. Like I said in my first post, I've already got a solution to work using th QB IIF file format.

However I would like to learn XML, and what better way to do it, by integrating a small portion of my app to QB would be quite interesting.

Looking for those guys to reply, if you've attempted or had luck with integrating a FM solution to Quickbooks using qbXML.

Jalz: You could export to Excel from FM, then import from Excel in QB; see Ivens' Running QuickBooks Premier Editions for the format of the Excel table.

What you are asking for is not terribly difficult using qbXML, but it does have a learning curve. I use it (qbXML) for integration along with a nifty piece of middleware by Dan Brill and the Troi File Plugin. The work could be accomplished without the File Plugin but not a easily. If you want complete real time integration then the FileBooks plugin is the way to go, I have used it in the past. You can however accomplish a decent level of integration using other methods.

hey Jalz. I am just learning how to use IIF files into QB from FM. Do you have a sample FM5 file that I can see how you created and formated the exported file?

qbXML is not available for the MAC
