VFXdbGuy Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 I am trying to use the command line tool fmsadmin to do a live backup of a file hosted on FMServer 7. Here's the command I tried: >fmsadmin backup filename.fp7 -d ../backup But when I run this I am prompted for a password. I tried the password I set for connecting to the server but it doesn't work. Neither do any of the full access passwords used in the file. I am running the command on the server while logged in as a member of the fmsadmin domain-level group. My eventual goal is to script the backup of a file then rename the copy, move it back to a data directory and then open it, all from within FileMaker. While my ultimate goal may not be possible, I cannot understand why I can't at least do a live backup, somethiing the help for the command line tool says is possible.
Martin Brändle Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 On OS X server, you have to use your login name and password. Martin
VFXdbGuy Posted January 24, 2005 Author Posted January 24, 2005 it only ask for a password... C:>fmsadmin backup grantest.fp7 -d ..copy password:******** Error: 10904
