More seriously, I have not worked through all the details of your rules for entry, but a different approach than built-in field validation may be in order. You have a lot more flexibility if you create an entry screen populated with global fields, have the user enter into the globals and push a submit button, and then validate using a script. This allows the validation to be done as a multi-step process rather than just a calculation (multiple finds and tests).
