Filemaker Server 7 has two connections per user.

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a problem where any user that opens hosted files appears in the client section of the filemaker server admin tool, twice.

The first file that they open appears fisrt, then the rest of the files they have opened appear seperately. This happens regardless of which database is opened first. I am running server v2 and pro v3.

Any info appreciated,

Kerrin

HI Kerrin,

I believe it has to do with the way the file references are setup. You need to use the same method for all the databases including the opener file. So if you use fmnet:/serverip/databasename in the opener file, then you need to use the same protocol in all the databases you are opening. I have this same problem with certain databases and I believe this is what is causing it. At least its my best guest.

I found a fix for the problem. I changed the i.p address on the server and everything is working fine... All my files had a file reference of

fmnet://192.168.0.1/<filename>

fmnet://192.168.0.39/<filename>

file:<filename>

Format may be wrong because i wrote it from memory but you get the drift.

The server was 192.168.0.1 and i changed it to 192.168.0.39 which was the test servers address. =)
