I am using FMP Developer 7 on Windows XP.

I am trying to define a calculation field called

Attached is what I came up with. It works but you need to click outside the portal or scroll to another record for the Best Time to update. You might be able to use the Softs4Humans plug-in to update the field, http://www.softs4humans.com/FMPro_Plugins.html , but I havent tried the plug-in yet, cant confirm it.

Nice. I would remove the Date = Date condition and make Stroke/Distance one field though.

Date is required by poster - else instead of the winner of a particular race he will get the all-time record.

Stroke and Distance are best kept separate to enable easy entry from value lists.

I think the number of possible combinations of Stroke & Distance will determine if it is better to keep the two seperate or combine them. If a small list I would rather use 1 field than 2. The original post specified them as a combined field though.
