Hi,

I am designing a medical database using FM v5, and will need to do advanced "cross-tabs" reporting.

Is there a 3rd party extension available that will allow me to do "cross-tabs"?

Is this kind of reporting available in FM v7?

Thank you,

Richard

Hi Richard, and Welcome to the Forum.

What exactly do you mean by Cross-Tab reports.

In the past, Cross-Tabs have always been in reference to a spread sheet look in report. However, it also sounds like you are talking about Relationship, or something else.

Hi Lee,

Cross-tab reporting is basically where you use columns vs rows to quantify data. In this case the data involves medical accident reporting, so an example might be different types of accidents, quarterly, or by year.

Here is a URL to a good example of cross-tabs:

Thanks,

Richard

It is what I thought it is. It is a Table View of the data. Unfortunately, v5 doesn't have the Table View, but you can create one that looks like by creating a New Layout - Report - List View.

There also some older posts on creating a Tab Report, or Tab Layout. Perform a search of All Forums for these keywords and see what comes up.
