PHP to ODBC ok, ODBC to FM6 not

My PHP says that it is connected, but I suspect that only means it has found the ODBC. Then on trying the query I get:

[FileMaker][ODBC FileMaker Pro driver][FileMaker Pro]Database not open.

Everything I can find in the help files seems to indicate that just having the *.fp5 open in FM 6 should work. But it doesn't!

I suspect I'm missing something obvious, but I'dstill be grateful if someone could put me out of my misery.

As ever,

Sandy

Do you have your files set up for ODBC sharing? Edit | Sharing | ODBC/JDBC Sharing | ODBC/JDBC Sharing ON | ODBC/JDBC Access to Files--All Users

file| sharing

calls up a dialog box. Multi-user radio, Local Data Access Companion, Remote DAC enabled.

Edit has preferences, but no reference to ODBC in there.

FileMaker Pro 6.0V4 if that helps.

Hmmm...my instructions were for 7; 6 would be different. Chapter 11 in The Book of FileMaker 6 by Kubica might help you.
