February 21, 200520 yr We do a lot of barcode/label printing and are looking for an industrial strength printer that can handle larger (full 8.5 x 11) labels. We are currently using Dymo and Brother label printers. And while these have been adequate, we now need something a bit better. The Zebra printers look great but, to the best of my knowledge, aren't compatible with Macs.
February 21, 200520 yr David: You may have trouble finding something to work with the Mac out of the box, in which case you may want to look into using gimp print to get around the shortage of drivers. In all my solutions we use SATO label printers, which are really excellent industrial label printers. They have one (I think it's the M10e) which prints up to 10" or 11" wide. The driver is for Windows, but in a networked system, you can always have a dedicated label printing station which is a Windows box - it'll be ugly, but it will work. -Stanley
